From Loyal Client to Franchise Owner: Jennifer Sposito, Woofie’s of Western Loudoun, VA

Jennifer Sposito’s journey with Woofie’s began over a decade ago as a dedicated client at the Ashburn, VA location. Her passion for animals and entrepreneurial drive led her to explore opportunities in the pet care industry.

After experiencing exceptional pet care and customer service at Woofie’s, Jennifer was inspired to open her own Woofie’s franchise. Following a five-year journey of dedication and hard work, she officially became a Woofie’s franchise owner in Spring 2024, turning her dream into a reality.

Today, Jennifer thrives in her role, blending her love for animals with her business expertise. Even more special, her franchise has become a family affair, with her two daughters lending a helping hand when needed.

What are some of your favorite things about being a Woofie's franchise owner?

I love meeting new people, whether networking with other pet-friendly businesses in my area to see how we can partner together, meeting prospective customers at an event, or building relationships with new clients at our in-home consultations. I also love being able to give back to the community through animal rescues/shelters. I often organize fundraising events, donate items to raffles, donate to a non-profit's memorial fund when a client's pet passes away, or go to the local shelters to donate free baths and nail trims.

What are some key areas and efforts you attribute your success to?

While I would love to take all the credit, building a strong team has been the key to success. My journey in building that strong team has been the most challenging part of this venture, but it's been the most rewarding and profitable. Having team members who are talented, truly love what they are doing, and have a positive attitude has been what has made my job easier. Receiving positive feedback from my clients about my mobile pet spa & pet sitting / dog walking team has also helped build my confidence in my team.

What are some recent achievements that you are proud of accomplishing?

Our location had awesome growth in December 2024, which I attribute to having a groomer on staff. We have been open since May 2024 and have been slowly building our bath-only clients since late June. But once our groomer started at the beginning of December, our van has been out on the road six days a week. We are getting a lot of brand recognition and people contacting us because they saw the Woofie's van.

What advice might you have for a fellow Woofie's franchisee?

Two main things have helped contribute to Western Loudoun's growth and success: building that personal relationship with your client and building that personal relationship with your staff. When you are sincere, personable, compassionate, flexible, and approachable (but still needing to run a business), you will likely have staff who care about their job and your business's success and are more likely to have repeat customers who refer you to their family, friends, and neighbors.
